MULTIDISCIPLINARY YOGA THERAPY WORKSHOP FOR CANCER, WOMEN’S HEALTH, DIABETES, STRESS, FALL PREVENTION, AND NUTRITION.

Program Description:
 This multidisciplinary yoga therapy workshop is an attempt to present yoga as a holistic approach for body, prana (life force), mind, intellect, and emotions. Yoga asanas (positions), pranayama breathing techniques, and specialized techniques of meditation are part of this workshop.
This workshop will provide theory and practices for specific ailments: Diabetes, Cancer, Stress, Women's Health, preventing falls and improving balance, and Yoga based nutrition. In order to become a student of yoga, one need not be diagnosed with these ailments. Practice of yoga techniques with individual care and attention will be provided by internationally renowned yoga teachers, Yoga Therapists, Physical therapist, researchers, and Physicians.

 OBJECTIVES
Upon successful completion of this Yoga Therapy workshop, participants should be able to,
-Differentiate different types of Yoga and its benefits.
-Understand the role of stress in various ailments.
-Demonstrate the role of Yoga in reducing stress.
-Describe the mind and body connection to treat various ailments.
-Identify and describe Yoga practices for cancer.
-Identify and describe Yoga practices for women’s health.
-Identify Yoga postures for alignment and posture.
-Demonstrate yoga poses for fall prevention and improve balance.
-Identify the role of Yoga in managing Diabetes.
-Describe Yoga based diet.
